Symbiotic Experience
Tai Chi, Qigong, and the Art of Listening
Wind rises, clouds disperse.
Roots deepen, water returns.
These sessions follow the subtle paths of movement not to perfect the body, but to dwell within change.
Movement Practice
I have followed these forms for over two decades.
First under Françoise Poutays and Master Tung, learning Yang style, broad, open, calm. Then a journey to the brocades with Marcus Watts
and finally with Master Liming Yue , stepping into the spirals of Chen style, where softness folds into force, and back again.
I now teach from this lineage, offering a shared practice that moves with the seasons and the moment.
Each class may include:
Yin Jin Jing, the sinew-changing classic, breath moving through tendon
Silk Reeling circling, coiling, like wind through grass
8 form Chen Tai Chi a compact form of power, weight, and yielding
We draw not from modern wellness but from the hexagrams:
Wind above Earth, Water beneath Mountain, Thunder waits below the sky.
Listening Practice
Not mindfulness. Not music.
This is Quantum Listening — an attention to attention.
Inspired by Pauline Oliveros and John Cage, this practice listens to listening itself, through:
Field recordings of living places
A biosonification device, which translates live plant data into tone and pulse
Ambient phenomena — wind, silence, ticking heat
Listening like this is a method of inquiry, not escape.
The Biosphere is Not Elsewhere
We inhabit it.
This is a space to wonder aloud:
What is intelligence, when spread across roots, water tables, clouds?
How do we stay with the trouble, without numbing or fleeing?
What kind of stillness remains, even now?
Sessions are open to all genders, colours, abilities looking to redefine the narrative of wellbeing in the Anthropocene.
